Battle of Brandywine 11 Sep 1777 - 

On September 11th, 1777, the Battle of Brandywine took place in Pennsylvania between General George Washington's American army and General Sir William Howe's British army. This battle is also known as the Battle of Brandywine Creek. 

In late August 1777, a Royal Navy fleet of more than 260 ships carrying some 17,000 British troops under the command of British General Sir William Howe landed at the head of the Elk River, on the northern end of the Chesapeake Bay near present-day Elkton, Maryland (then known as Head of Elk), approximately 40–50 miles (60–80 km) southwest of Philadelphia, after a harrowing 34-day journey from Sandy Hook on the coast of New Jersey.

Battle of Flamborough Head 23rd September 1779 

The Battle of Flamborough Head was fought in the North Sea off the coast of Yorkshire on September 23, 1779, between a joint Franco-American squadron led by Continental Navy officer John Paul Jones and two British escort vessels escorting a huge trade convoy. Despite its tiny size and a lot of disagreement about what happened, it became one of the most remembered naval battles of the war in America.

The Battle of Harlem Heights took place during the American Revolutionary War's New York and New Jersey campaign. On September 16, 1776, in what is now Morningside Heights and east into the future Harlem areas of northwestern Manhattan Island in what is now New York City, the action took place in what is now Morningside Heights and east into the future Harlem neighbourhoods.

Battle of Rhode Island 28-29 August 1778

On August 29, 1778, the Battle of Rhode Island took place. General John Sullivan's Continental Army and militia forces had been besieging British soldiers at Newport, Rhode Island, which is located on Aquidneck Island, but they had finally given up and were retreating to the northern portion of the island. The British forces then launched an attack on the withdrawing Americans, backed up by newly arrived Royal Navy ships. Although the action ended in a draw, the Continental forces retreated to the mainland, leaving Aquidneck Island in British control.

Chesapeake Bay 1781

The Conflict of the Chesapeake, also known as the Battle of the Virginia Capes or simply the Battle of the Capes, took place near the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay on September 5, 1781, and was a pivotal naval battle in the American Revolutionary War. A British fleet headed by Rear Admiral Sir Thomas Graves and a French fleet led by Rear Admiral François Joseph Paul, the Comte de Grasse were the combatants.
